As memórias de um Sim
Em 2000, eu estava na Editora Abril e, entre outras publicações, colaborava com a revista Web!. Lá, eu tinha plena liberdade para desenvolver alguns dos trabalhos mais inusitados da minha carreira de jornalista. Como a primeira volta ao mundo num simulador de voo, que transformei num livro.
Outra experiência marcante foi registrar, em forma de folhetim, minha experiência com o game The Sims. Criei para a Web! um folhetim mensal chamado O Diário de um Sim. Com o tempo, ele foi se revelando uma espécie de ficção fora de controle, uma história que parecia se desenrolar por conta própria. Isso mais de 20 anos antes da popularização da inteligência artificial.
Hoje, a própria IA está facilitando a edição e a ilustração dessa história, que inclui elementos típicos de um folhetim, como romance, drama, comédia e até um assassinato. Eu tive apenas um controle parcial sobre essa narrativa. Em grande parte, ela se desenvolveu de forma autônoma.

The memories of a Sim
In 2000, I was working at Editora Abril and, among other publications, contributing to Web! magazine. There, I had complete freedom to develop some of the most unusual projects of my journalistic career. One of them was the first trip around the world in a flight simulator, which I later turned into a book.Another memorable experiment was documenting, in serialized form, my experience with the game The Sims. For Web!, I created a monthly serial called The Diary of a Sim. Over time, it began to reveal itself as a kind of fiction spinning out of control — a story that seemed to unfold by itself. And this was more than 20 years before artificial intelligence became widely popular.
Today, AI itself is helping me edit and illustrate that story, which includes all the classic elements of a serial: romance, drama, comedy, and even a murder. I had only partial control over the narrative. To a large extent, it developed autonomously.
Soon, it will also become a book.
