Em seguida chegou a conta: o equivalente a cerca de 27 mil reais como compensação pelas balas gastas pelo governo no assassinato. Em seguida os pais foram transportados por cinco horas para ver o corpo da filha ser jogado numa vala comum numa cidade distante.
O regime não pretende fazer uma estatística exata das vítimas. Esse trabalho está sendo feito por uma rede de médicos. Segundo um relatório dessa rede, entre 16.500 e 18.000 manifestantes foram mortos. De 330 mil a 380 mil foram feridos. Entre as vítimas, a maioria tem menos de 30 anos de idade. Eram a esperança da juventude iraniana - esportistas, estudantes, artistas. Além de crianças e mulheres grávidas.
Nas manifestações contra a ditadura iraniana em 2022 os soldados usaram balas de borracha. Agora estão utilizando armas militares como o rifle Heckler & Koch G3. Snipers foram instalados nos topos dos edifícios. E miram as cabeças dos manifestantes. Convidadas pelo regime, milícias de terroristas xiitas vindas do Iraque patrulham as ruas das cidades iranianas com uma brutalidade que não pertence ao mundo civilizado.
O massacre gerou uma epidemia de cegueira. A clínica oftalmológica Noor, de Teerã, registrou 7 mil ferimentos nos olhos. Em uma única noite, só na capital, 800 casos de remoção dos olhos tiveram que ser executados. Segundo as fontes consultadas pelo The Times, 8 mil pessoas no país inteiro ficaram cegas por causa dos tiros".

"The parents of a young woman in her early twenties, after a long search among hundreds of bodies wrapped in black plastic bags, finally found their daughter’s body. The officer in charge gave them a deadline: 'You have ten minutes to cry'.
Then came the bill: the equivalent of about 5,000 dollars as compensation for the bullets spent by the government in the killing. After that, the parents were transported for five hours to watch their daughter’s body being thrown into a mass grave in a distant city.
The regime does not intend to produce an accurate count of the victims. That work is being carried out by a network of doctors. According to a report by this network, between 16,500 and 18,000 demonstrators were killed. Between 330,000 and 380,000 were injured. Among the victims, most are under 30 years of age. They were the hope of Iran’s youth—athletes, students, artists—as well as children and pregnant women.

According to sources consulted by The Times, 8,000 people across the country were left blind as a result of the shootings".
