As promessas da Ciência para 2026

 Meu artigo desta semana para a revista Oeste lista 12 promessas nos campos da Ciência e Tecnologia para o ano que começou. Algumas dessas promessas são continuidade de trabalhos que estão sendo desenvolvidos especialmente neste século 21.

Temos novidades na aplicação da computação quântica, em materiais industriais, no uso de hidrogênio como combustível, em fontes de energia, na engenharia genética, na busca por um plástico reciclavel, na medicina, na colonização da Lua, e nos inevitáveis celulares. Mesmo para quem acompanha a evolução tecnológica desde os anos 1960, este 2026 oferece perspectivas de dar vertigem.

The promises of Science for 2026

My article this week for Oeste magazine lists 12 promising areas in Science and Technology for the year that has begun. Some of these promising areas are a continuation of work that has been developed especially in this 21st century.

We have new developments in the application of quantum computing, in industrial materials, in the use of hydrogen as fuel, in energy sources, in genetic engineering, in the search for recyclable plastic, in medicine, in the colonization of the Moon, and in the inevitable cell phones. Even for those who have followed technological evolution since the 1960s, this year, 2026, offers dizzying prospects.
